The Waiting Game

Patience is a virtue. If you know me well, you know that's not one of my qualities. It has being really hard to wait for BK2 to show up. I'm tired of hearing complete strangers looking at my belly and saying: "You're about to pop!". But in reality, they are right! I'm about to POP.
I had my 38 weeks appt this morning (Monday, April 12). I'm 1 1/2 cm dilated and 75% effaced (last week I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced). So, I'm progressing, but it means ABSOLUTELY nothing at all to me since with my 1st pregnancy I was 1 cm dilated all the way to 38 1/2 weeks and my water broke. It's a waiting game.

Yesterday at church, the preacher was talking about how God knows us even before we are ever born ("The Lord called me before my birth. From within the womb, He called me by my name..." Isaiah 49:1). How amazing is to know that God already knows Baby Kuba #2 by name! I don't even know her, but He already knows who she is and have plans for her! My prayer is that she will never know I day in her life when she doesn't know the Lord.
I haven't posted any frontal belly shoots, so here is finally one. It looks like a swallowed a gigantic basketball. Check it out my crocked "linea negra". I had it with Jacqueline and is definitely back with BK2.

Both of our families (Natalie--Kyle's brother's wife is also pregnant- she is due Aug 28)

We went to church on Saturday night at 5pm. It was so nice b/c it was not crowded like the morning services. We went out for brunch on Easter Sunday at Providence Cafe. My parents met us there and we had a delicious brunch! I specially loved the chocolate chip muffins! YUMMY!!!!
Jacqueline was being her usual self---A-C-T-I-V-E!!!!
I had the Belgian waffles and they were pretty good. I ate every bit of it! I tried giving some to Jacqueline, but she wasn't a fan. Oh, well, I didn't mind at all...more for me!

In the way out, I bumped into 2 friends that I haven't seen forever! They have not even met Jacqueline! On my left is Marisa and on my other side is Amy, I met both from mutual friends.

Belly Art

Kyle painted a pumpkin on my baby bump when I was pregnant with Jacqueline, so I thought it would be fun to get him to do an Easter egg for my baby bump w/ Baby Creature.

Toddler Tantrum, New Ride and Pregnancy Stories

After months of research and indecisiveness, I finally bought this double stroller. I took Jacqueline for a test drive at the mall. She loved it! It's pretty light, but once I put the Baby Creature in her infant car seat, I know it will much heavier. I'll probably loose all my pregnancy pounds by pushing this thing, which I'm looking forward to it!
When I went to buy the stroller, I had another pregnancy brain moment. I forgot 2 unpaid items in my cart. The sale clerk that helped me carry the stroller to my car was able to take them back, so at least at save me embarrassment to go into the store to explain myself. In the same week, I almost run over 4 pedestrians w/ my car! This baby needs to come out ASAP for the sake of the Charlotte population! I keep telling myself that as long as I don't forget Jacqueline somewhere I'm doing pretty good!
For no reason at all (at least that I know), J had a tantrum this past week. She thorough herself on the floor and started being so dramatic. I just had to get my camera to capture the moment.
Once I started taking pictures of her, I think she started wondering why I was laughing-- at least that was what it looked like from my point of view. I'll probably use this tactic again next time since it seems to work.

Fun Weekend

Jacqueline LOVES been thrown out in the air by her Daddy. We were having fun in our front yard while waiting for my mom to arrive.
Me and my 2 girls
Mom, Are you shrinking? We used to be the same height! :>
Kyle and I had an afternoon date on Saturday (movie and early dinner). My mom watched Jacqueline and I'm so glad she did b/c we REALLY needed t a date! This baby could decide to make her debut anytime, so this may be the last date for a while.
On Sunday, I met my old roomates from college (Katie and Stephanie) for lunch. Katie lives in New York city and she was in town for the weekend visiting her cousin. It was so nice to see them both and catch up. Ryley was ready for her nap and didn't really care to get her pix taken. Poor baby! If I had brought Jacqueline, she would be in my arms crying too! It's so much harder to see my girlfriends now that I'm a mom and being 36 weeks pregnant make even harder b/c I've been so fatigued and by late afternoon all I want to do is plop in front of the TV and do nothing at all.

Easter Egg Hunt

Yesterday Jacqueline participated in her 1st Easter Egg Hunt. She didn't grap the concept at all!! Instead of hunting for eggs, she was running over the place, which was not very exciting for an almost 9 month pregnant woman!

Here are some moms and kiddos from the playgroup

She found a chocolate egg!

Maybe next year she will actually put the eggs in the basket!

VBAC or Not...That is The Question!

Today I had an ultrasound to find out the size of Baby Creature. This is one of the deciding factors in my attempt to try VBAC. I'm 35 weeks and 2 days and she weighs 6.6 lbs--which is about 1 lb more than an average baby. Jacqueline at this stage was 7.4!! Dr. Fletcher says it's good news and she was surprised this baby is smaller than J since babies get larger w/ subsequent pregnancies. Baby Creature is head done (no wonder I've been taking more frequent trips to the bathroom!) and everything else (heart beat, amniotic fluid, etc) looks great! The OB thinks that I will deliver this baby before the due date, which for me, it's music to my ears since the sooner she comes, the less she will weigh! Also, I'm ready to NOT be pregnant. Carrying a baby in the womb and a toddler in my arms has taken a toll in back. I've had lots of back pain and I'm EXHAUSTED beyond a could imagine possible. I talked to my former cleaning lady and I re-hired her. I just don't have energy to clean the house anymore. She is coming on Monday. It will be the best $55 I will ever spent!

This is Jacqueline's new favorite spot in the house. She loves playing, watching cartoons and "reading" her books in this little corner. So cute! It's nice that the toys stay in the stairs instead of all over the den!
Today Kyle got home a bit early and we had some time to play with her after dinner. He was blowing in her belly and she was laughing out loud. She was having a great time.
