Worth the wait

I've being living in this country for almost 20 years and it has being this long that I hoped to have a Brazilian hammock hung in my house. I LOVE, LOVE hammocks!!!! Today my dream came true! We got someone to hang our hammocks in our screened porch. The girls and I spent a while enjoying laying on them, swinging on the them...
I've gone to the screened porch several times and just started at them...really! :> I may even sleep there tonight! (just kidding).

under the weather

Today was a long day. I've being a little under the weather and Jacqueline has a stomach bug. Both girls took very long naps today and so did I. We all need it. Kyle is still not home from work. The above pix is me in the end of the day--feet up with my laptop and glancing at some mindless TV show
We stayed in the house all day. The only adventure was playing inside the screened porch and the highlight of the girls' day was watching the yard man trim the bushes
I delight in their thirsty to discover the world and how they look at everything with such wonder

Blank Slate

The first day of the year...some folks make new year resolutions, the gym will be packed on Monday, new diets, new hopes, new lists, promises ready to be broken. A few days before the end of the year, Kyle and I make a list of goals we want to accomplish in the new year (some people call it resolutions, but I just don't like that word--it implies failure to me). We started this back 2-3 years ago. I personally have items in my list that are rewritten every year ( I guess calling it "goals" doesn't really help, uh?!!). For 2011, I didn't list any personal goals. They are mostly things that Kyle and I want to accomplish together. Well, except that I want to find time and be consistent in doing my quite time. That one is the most important and # 1 thing I want to accomplish. I'm writing this in my blog b/c I think that when we write something it becames more real (especially in the internet to everyone to see it!). Those that read my blog are welcome to ask me if I accomplish my goal in the end of 2011. I do need accountability. :>

Above is Jacqueline w/ my scarf and she had my shoes on too, but they fell off her tiny feet right before I snapped the photo

The happiest baby in the block

As usual, Daddy making his daughter "fly"

I won't ever get tired to look at her chubby face

Happy 2011!

Hope it's jolly as Vivian!

House Bound

Both girls are sick with colds. We stayed in all weekend and tried to kept ourselves from boredom. We checked our emails and facebook.

Daddy read stories to the girls

And everyone acted like 2 year olds!
(Kyle was inside the box too and Vivian took the picture)
This afternoon my mom is coming over to watch the girls . I have a dentist appt and I'm looking forward to it. You know you need a break when you are excited for getting your teeth cleaned! Ha!

The Last Box

We have finally moved in into our new house! Kyle and I worked hard to get settle as quick as possible-- that meant opening all of the moving in boxes before Thanksgiving. For our surprise, we found these 2 little creatures in the last box! We were wondering where they've been! :>
Suburban life is quite different from living in an urban neighborhood. All of our neighboors came out to greet us on the day we moved in. Everyone is so friendly and there are 33 kids in our street! There are several toddlers same age as Jacqueline. Our next door neighboors brought us homemade cakes to welcome us. I feel like I stepped in into the 1950's where neighbors actually knew each other's names and you would not feel weird knocking on their door to ask to borrow a cup of sugar. I love it! I though I would miss the old house b/c of the memories we've shared, but I haven't. I'm ready to build new memories here w/ Kyle and my girls!

Every Day Life

When do kids stop eating from the floor? I'm just not quick enough to stop Jacqueline from eating from the floor. I keep telling myself that she is "building her immune system
so I won't feel so bad.
Trying to unlock the door. Little she knows she is using the wrong key hole!

Flying!!!!

Pretty typical on weekend morning at our house. Plopping, drinking coffee and trying to read the paper and watching Blue's Clues

End of the Summer

I took this picture of us looking at the mirror, so this is the best I could come up with not knowing what direction I was shooting. I LOOOOOOVE her smile in this picture. It's my fav picture of her so far b/c it truly capture my little sweet angel. She is so jolly and smiley. It makes me not want her to ever grow up.
At least here I was able to get my entire face in the picture!

I have crazy love for these 2 little creatures! It's an amazing feeling to be their mother and I feel so blessed to be able to wake up every day and know that I'll spend it with them. When I look at these faces I know how much God loves me for allowing me to be their mother and for carrying them in my womb. These little people have brought me so much joy!

It's nice to have my camera handy for moments like this.

Bob is 80!

This was taken at Bob's b-day party--this is suppose to be their X-mas card, but it's so hard to get 4 children to look a the same direction! We tried taking several pictures and this one was the best of the bunch.

Jacqueline and Isabella (Adiel's daughter) going for a ride in the wagon in a very HOT day.

Having a little snack while watching cartoons. Before having kids I used to say that I would not allow my children to watch TV. Then I had Jacqueline and let her watch just a little bit. Vivian was born and my RULE changed drastically. With 2 kids under 2, I am constantly in survival mode and TV became part of my "survival kit".

Helping Daddy work out. "Project Diesel" as Kyle calls it!

I love my girls!

Ok, so I didn't realized I posted the same picture twice. Once "baby brain" forever "baby brain...
